In 1934, Léon’s grandson Willy registered a patent for the second separate chronograph push-piece at 4 o’clock. Willy Breitling was not only technically talented, he also recognized the desire people had for elegance and glamour. This inspired him to create the “Premier” in the 1940s.

At that time, Breitling was an established customer of the ébauche manufacturer Venus. Willy Breitling was already purchasing movements from this company in the 1930s. He also acquired the Venus 179 caliber and presented it in 1944 inside the “Premier Duograph” model. This was a hand-wound, rattrapante chronograph movement, which Venus produced in modest quantities between 1940 and 1952. The 1:1 top Breitling fake watches was operated using two pushers and a rattrapante button integrated into the crown.

Rattrapante Module Hidden Beneath the Dial

In 2017, Breitling picked up this loose thread in history with the Navitimer Rattrapante. The watchmakers initially placed the complicated splitseconds mechanism with its additional column wheel, rattrapante wheel and clamps directly beneath the dial because highly precise drilling of the long chronograph tube is challenging. With the Venus 179 caliber, the split-seconds mechanism was moved to the back of the movement.

With the Caliber B03, and subsequently, also the B15, high quality Breitling copy watches has returned the split-seconds complication, including the rattrapante wheel, column wheel and clamps, to the front of the movement. Placing the complication directly under the dial was done for more than simple historical reasons. These days, modern watchmaking and construction methods allow for various technical solutions for a rattrapante mechanism. Breitling went its own way, resulting in two patents.

The modular construction of the B03 movement, and thereby also the B15, permitted shifting the rattrapante mechanism to the dial side of the movement, now situated between the mainplate and the date ring. Unfortunately, this makes it invisible through the sapphire caseback window. The rattrapante mechanism uses traditional gearing and a stainless-steel split-seconds wheel. The second patented innovation is an isolating system that works as an energysaving separation between the stopped split-seconds from the actual chronograph mechanism. The rattrapante wheel has a rubber O-ring that replaces the geared edge. The entire split-seconds mechanism comprises only 28 individual components.

Hand-wound B15 Caliber with No Date

From its inception, the modular design of the B03 caliber offered a variety of options. A self-winding mechanism may be used in this caliber to wind the movement, but the B15 does not offer this; instead it follows the growing trend of hand-wound luxury Breitling replica watches. And unlike the B03, the B15 has no date indication, just like the original Premier Duograph from the 1940s.

The bicompax layout of the counters shows the running seconds at 9 o’clock and the elapsed chronograph minutes at 3 o’clock. In the past, the chronograph counter measured up to 45 minutes, but the modern Duograph uses the now more common 30-minute counter. Taken directly from its predecessor are the elongated line markers at 3, 6 and 9 minutes. These were once useful for timing telephone call charges. Does anyone need them these days? Admittedly, they are attractive and authentic. Less attractive are the cut off numerals 2, 4, 8 and 10, but this design does have a historical basis. Generally speaking, we find the first Swiss movements replica Breitling Premier Duograph watches from 1944 had clearer indications.

Expert Stopwatch Function

The box-style sapphire crystal is definitely a retro design element, but the dramatically curved edge tends to distort the tachymeter track. Otherwise, the double-sided anti-glare coating on the crystal ensures clear visibility of the trendy blue dial. The sunburst pattern shifts in color from the center, and the recessed counters have concentric circular ridging. The tachymeter track around the dial is printed on a slightly elevated ring. The stopwatch track on the inner ring has highlighted numerical 5-minute markers and, as befits an expert chronograph, accurately marked fractions of a second in accordance with the 4-Hz rhythm of the B15 caliber. The hand-wound movement is housed in a sturdy stainless-steel case with a narrow, polished, stepped bezel on top, a brushed finish on the grooved middle section, and the signature Breitling caseback with sapphire crystal viewing window, which can only be opened with a special tool. The B15 has a very high-tech look. As we saw during our test of the cheap Swiss fake Breitling Aviator 8 B01 Chronograph Mosquito watches, unfortunately we also see signs of wear from the chronograph levers here.

The stopwatch function is operated using elongated pushers with secure pressure points. Despite the column wheel, starting the chronograph requires more effort than the stop and reset. The rattrapante pusher has a supple feel to it and works consistently well inside the crown. The deeply grooved crown itself is very easy to grasp for daily winding. And should you forget to wind the Breitling replica watches for men, the B15 caliber, like all modern in-house movements produced by Breitling, has a 70-hour power reserve with good rate results and reliable amplitudes, even when the chronograph is engaged for an entire day.

A Shimmering Dial with Long Hands and Applied Markers

Since only a few manufacturers offer this complex rattrapante technology, it’s a pleasure to see and experience it on the dial of Breitling copy watches site. As a reminder, rattrapante is from the French word rattraper, which means “to catch up.” A rattrapante chronograph has two stopwatch hands that can be stopped independently and rejoined at a later point. One chronograph hand can “catch up” to the other. If both hands are running simultaneously, the actual stopwatch hand carries the second one along, which is why one often speaks of a split-second chronograph. The two long needle-like hands differ very little in appearance but their short ends are easy to tell apart. The thicker top stopwatch hand ends in a ring, while the slightly thinner rattrapante hand below it has an arrowhead tip. These symbols were already part of the Duograph from 1944. Sometimes the steel hands and applied markers shimmer and reflect light so you have to move the watch a little to read the elapsed time. In the dark, only the main time with hours and minutes is visible, glowing bright green.

The strap is lined with a vibrant yellow that contrasts with the golden-brown sheen of the alligator leather on top, which recalls Willy Breitling’s notion of fulfilling people’s wishes for elegance and glamour with the Premier collection. In 2018, the Premier line returned with top-of-the-line models, and Breitling continues to introduce beautiful new variants each year. In this article, we take a look at the history of the Premier along with some of the most enchanting models.

As a junior watch collector, I first met Fred Mandelbaum roughly a decade ago. I had the opportunity to learn from him about some of the greatest watches, especially chronographs, produced. During my education, which continues to this day, it was hard not to become infected by Fred’s love for AAA Breitling fake watches. Legendary watches such as the Navitimer were the most recognizable pieces, but Fred continuously talked about the Breitling Premier. This was a line of watches that I wasn’t familiar with at the time because Breitling had stopped making them some 40 years prior.

A dinner that changed everything

I’ll never forget an early meal with Fred in his hometown of Vienna, Austria. It was at this meeting that Fred brought a dizzying array of Breitling Premier examples, and frankly, they blew my mind. This was Breitling? Let’s not forget that this was well before the current renaissance that Breitling is enjoying under George Kern’s leadership. But yes, Breitling had, in fact, produced some of the most stunningly beautiful chronographs under the Breitling Premier name. Ultimately, I was able to find and purchase a vintage Premier, and to this day, it remains one of my favorite vintage China Breitling replica watches. The case, the dial, and the movement are all as well crafted as anything else that I own, and I think that says a lot. Would I like to own more Breitling Premier models? You bet, but a certain person from Vienna has cornered the market — on the vintage models at least!

In vintage terms, I do not know of another brand that made such a wide-ranging series of gorgeous chronographs. The Breitling Premier from the beginning until the early ’70s

From 1943 until the early 1970s, Breitling produced the Premier in an astounding number of variations. The case diameters ranged from below 30mm to 38.5mm. Case materials spanned chrome, to stainless steel, and even included 18K gold. The top replica Breitling watches typically came in either two- or three-register formats, and the majority housed Venus hand-winding movements like the 178 and 175, although some early models used Valjoux calibers. You’ll note that all models, no matter their ultimate intent, were distinctly legible with incredible finishing. Let’s take a look at just a few of the standout models.

Rugged designs well before their time, such as the reference 765

The Breitling Premier name encapsulated chronographs with many intentions. Some, such as the 38mm 765 above, were truly special. Breitling also produced a light-dialed counterpart that you can see further above. It’s a wonderful counterpart to the darker-dialed version. The details are similar, but note how the syringe hands are slimmer. It’s a reminder that there are so many small differences between these models and evidence that the brand was always tweaking its designs to achieve perfection.

The Premier 765 from 1951 is yet another amazing variant showing how Breitling continued to evolve the theme. This model dates to 1951 but looks like a watch that could have debuted during the following decade. The dial is all black, and the lumed indices are hashes instead of Arabic numerals. It’s yet another example of a standout chronograph that any brand would like to have in its back catalog.

One of my favorite Swiss movements super clone Breitling Premier watches is the 765 AOPA made for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. It’s the last model in the line and shares the same large 38mm footprint with models from decades prior. The watch has an incredibly clean look and is unique with its lack of the Breitling signature on the dial. The slim pencil hands are a serious departure from the syringe hands of earlier models. Also, like the rest of the 765s before, it also utilizes the Venus 178 movement.

The golden era also meant formal watches with style

Breitling also created Premiers in non-waterproof cases. These are easy to identify due to their rectangular pushers. In my view, if they are in gold, they’re even more special. Gold models were rare when produced, and today, there are few survivors in fabulous condition. A model such as the gold 36mm 782 above contains a unique “knee-lug” case and a dial that would look at home in watches from some of the most luxurious brands. In person, details such as the applied indices and even the printing are flawless. We’ve never thought of Breitling as anything but a high-level brand, but these cheap UK Breitling replica watches were truly something to behold. Furthermore, examples like this 782 show how versatile Breitling was in making pieces for all occasions.

Even some of the smallest Breitling Premier fake watches for sale are amazingly detailed and worth a second look. The 32.6mm reference 789 above has perfect balance and manages to add a tachymeter ring while coming off as a dressier example. A no-lume dial and printed numerals help tie together the overall look. If you’re following the photo captions, you’ll notice that in the ’40s, there were already several different case sizes. This wasn’t commonplace during this period, and most companies tended towards making watches with small diameters. Breitling, however, felt it was crucial to offer options for those with different wrist sizes while also considering certain applications that might require a larger dial and greater legibility. These watches may look vintage today, but it is clear that the ideas behind the Premier were quite innovative.

If someone were describing the steel Premier 760 model above, I’d probably skip right over it due to the sheer mention of Roman numerals. This would prove to be a foolish move because this is a beautiful watch. View the clarity of this design, and it’s not some stodgy dress chronograph. This replica Breitling watches shop has style! Plus, even if it is a more sparse affair, it’s versatile and can work in all situations.

The modern era — a triumphant return

There was a brief return for the Breitling Premier in the late ’90s, but I prefer to focus on the present since 2018 because the fake Breitling watches site since this time have truly been special. All are available on either an alligator strap with a folding buckle or the brand’s trademark seven-row bracelet. As mentioned, I think it’s highly worthwhile to pick up Fred’s new book on the Breitling Premier. If you’ve not spent much time researching these models, it will serve as an eye-opening revelation. These watches are elegant but capable with modern specifications, and they represent a nice alternative to the overly sporty alternatives that we often see today.
